I’ve worked on a number of interesting projects in the last year, but the one I started a few weeks ago is the most personal. And, I suspect, it will be the most fun.
I’ve started to work with Keith Kriegler (follow him on Twitter!), the founder of MyDadnMe.com, a social website for families that takes a (mostly) Dad point of view of parenting. Better, it’s a social site where you can hang out with your kids. You can play games together, share photos and chat with other family members that belong. My 6-year-old son loves to play the “pipeline master” puzzle game.
My role is to help Keith build the site’s visibility and traffic through the new blog we launched this week. The MyDadnMe Blog offers posts from three writers: Keith, a single father with a 12-year-old daughter; yours truly, a father of two who will write what we are calling Dad-Approved Products; and Cindy Kienzle, a career woman who stepped away from the bustle of work to have her first child at age 48. (I said it was ‘mostly’ about Dads.)
Developing editorial strategies is what I like to do. Plus, I get to review products for parents on the site as well. That’s a win-win for a gadget guy like me. (Trust me, the products I review will not only have an electronics angle.) But the best news? I get to write about issues dear to my heart — kids!
Go ahead and call me a Daddy blogger. If you have ideas on the types of products we should review for “Dad-Approved Products,” let me know.
Meanwhile, check out MyDadnMe at www.mydadnme.com. The blog can be found here, www.mydadnme.com/blog. If you’d like to share your thoughts about the family social site or the blog with someone besides me, click on this contact form.

Congrats Eric, sounds awesome! I am now expecting, so this kid stuff is starting to be interesting to me=)
Mazel Tov, Monica! That’s great to hear!
Looks great Eric. I still remember when I first heard the news you were going to be a dad. If i ever get my blog(s) going, I’ll be sure to link to you. Congrats!
I love the name of your blog, Sleeping Around with Terri Colby. So clever. Get moving! I have a link to it under the ‘We Read’ widget on the right side of my blog. And I remember the first time your now college-aged daughter, then just starting high school, sat for the boy!
We can always use more good daddy bloggers. Good luck with it.
