Each time I pick up my iPhone these days, the App Store icon informs me there are apps that need updating.
And each update description includes the following phrase: “Optimized for the iPad.”
Pandora, Acid Solitaire and IMDb are just a few of the apps I use often that have included that description. The Pandora app sounds particularly interesting. “Entirely new user interface on iPad — lean in and read all about the artists you’re hearing,” it reads.
Lean in? I’m not sure what that means but all these “iPad optimized” updates sure have me curious. The iPad goes on sale Saturday (reviews), so the flurry of updates has just begun.
For Apple, it is yet another — even if inadvertent — great marketing ploy to keep us buying.
